It is definitely not the time of the year where hot drinks are in demand. It is getting hotter by the day and peak temperatures are already 40 degrees and above. A couple of weeks back, my college friends and I met up at a local mall for lunch. After lunch, some chit chat and walking around, we settled down for some coffee. While having some coffee, one of them remarked, “This coffee is making me feel so warm!” And it was true! Despite the mall being sufficiently air conditioned, the hot coffee did spark up a little bit of sweat! Going into the kitchen these days in the mornings is really tiring, though nights are still better. My previous kitchen was central a/c, where I had no inkling of the struggle of ladies who cook in a kitchen otherwise, and now, I am absolutely understanding it! I now limit my hot drinks in the office and at home, I am more into blitzing, so that I cool down!
Even then, at times, it doesn’t stop me from enjoying a hot drink here and there – yes, of course, with the a/c blasting on right on my head! Just like how much I love chocolate drinks (check out the hot chocolates here and here, for a bit of decked up versions, you can check here and here, and the Mocha in two formats here and here), I love this one as well, that is made of white chocolate. I have made it plain, but you can definitely top with some whipping cream and drizzle some chocolate sauce for making it more fancy, if you wish!
Hot White Chocolate
Servings 1
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup low fat milk
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 tbsp white chocolate chips
- A pinch cinnamon powder
- A pinch nutmeg powder
Instructions
- Combine the milk, water and chocolate chips and cook on low flame till the chips are completed melted into the milk.
- Add the spice powders and give a good mix. Switch off.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
I didn't add sugar as the white chocolate was already sweet.
When you keep the drink for sometime, a yellow skin may form, which is OK.
You can top this with some whipped cream and drizzle chocolate sauce to make it more rich!
You can skip the spices if you don't like them, but I felt they gave a nice flavor to the whole drink.
